im no mechanic but it sounds like you hydrolocked it. maybe pull off the valve covers and heads then try to manually turn the crank.

I would pull the spark plugs and turn the engine over by hand. It sounds like it is hydrolocked. Hopefully nothing bent/broken. If you find water in the cylinders blow it out, and like I said, try turning it by hand. there have been a few folks on here who have done this. Good luck,

Im late to the party here but deff a hydrolock. Luckly its not to hard to rebuild, or drop 3k on a stroker.

i've seen a couple hydrolock threads and is there anything to learn from folks who have gotten into this situation? Such as, does this only happen with stock OEM air boxes? Basically what can be done to prevent water from being sucked into the engine? I use a standard K&N CAI cone filter that sits high in the engine compartment over the fender. It is shielded on three sides and there is no way water can collect in it. I'm not concerned with Red as she doesn't go off road, but I am curious as what actually happens.

Its been all styles of intakes that have caused a hydrolock due to deep water. Only style I cant honestly say I have seen or heard of is Vararam. I think anything you go deep enough in and stay in there will cause an issue. When hunting I have only gone as high as my bumper. Most of the time the rods will get bent, cant say to many have actualy cracked a piston. Pulling the motors on these are actualy not bad, if its a 4x4 you have to fight the damn front diff/trans/motor mount bar. Thats the only ruff thing to work around.

Well, lets hope Jeremy reports back that his motor turns over ok. I hate seeing engines tore up like this. When mine goes I want dented hood and cut tires....

pull the plugs and crank it over... blow the water out... re install plugs and start it up... then change all fluids... the motor shouldnt be the only thing you should be concerned about... esp a trans get water in that and ****... have hydro locked a jeep a few times, pulled plugs blew out the water by crankin it over and fired her rite up

Im speaking from personal experience..... its locked bro. I locked up my old furd a couple years ago in a bigass mud/water hole. Needless to say a wave of water OVER the cab is definately no good, lol.

This ^ is why I havent wheeled my Ram hardly, lol.

Edit: What do ya'll mean by cranking the motor over by hand? How would one go about doing that? We tried pulling my truck forward while it was in reverse, I guess to spin it back and pump any water out, but all efforts were to no avail. Yanked the plugs..... they were brown :(
