Hey guys,
I was changing the spark plugs on my 06 RAM 1500 5.7L and i had to disconnect the vacuum hose to the brake booster because it was in the way, once i was done i forgot to reconnect the hose, i started up the truck and drove it then i noticed my brake pedal being very hard to press so i pulled to side to check and found the vacuum hose, i reconnected it and pumped the pedal a few times start up again but there was no change, it seems to be air locked or something? what should I do next? Do i need to bleed the brakes?

you sure it's not leaking? maybe a clamp is missing? If you have enough hose, trim about an inch off and reseat the hose

I would double and triple check to make sure the brake booster is hooked up in the right spots
Yes I did check and it's connected in the right spot, i only disconnected it from the brake booster side right at the check valve. But i checked at the throttle body side as well and it seemed to be connected, i didn't find a clamp on the hose when i disconnected it and don't remember having it before i changed the spark plugs.

Yeah it's not leaking and there wasn't a clamp when i disconnected it, the check valve has a barb connection, should it be a clamp there?

If you don't have a vacuum gauge available to test with, pull the hose off while the truck is idling, you should be able to feel some vacuum.
If you do have vacuum, turn the truck off and pump the brakes several times till the pedal is firm. While keeping pressure on the brake pedal while starting the engine, if you feel the pedal soften then it's probably not the brake booster.

Thanks for the suggestion, what's crazy for me is everything was working fine until I disconnected the vacuum hose and forgot to reconnect it.

The brake pedal is already firm whether the truck is on or off and doesn't soften either way it's like the brake booster is doing nothing. Any ideas?

did you rip the grommet that goes into the booster when you pulled the line?. Its a very simple setup vacumm from the engine to the booster if you have it the booster is shot or has a leak.
