I joined this form when I bought my 07 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 5.7 a little over a year ago.Great truck and has never let me down,I'm getting between 14 and 15 mpgs local and have gotten as high as 17 on long trips 300 miles plus.I've had to replace the alt and both front bearing along with a battery put the Super chip with cold air and rims and tires along with the leveling kit,,I like it.Now I paid 16000 for it from org owner and then it was worth like a little over 17000 for it blue book,90,000 miles.OK now I got a bug up my ass to buy a diesel :) I'v looked at all of them,my son works for Ford so you know his vote and The Chevys are very nice but I just like the inline diesel. Now I;v looked at 05's to 14;s right now there is a 07 blue one same interior as mine cloth 30 grand 80.000 miles and now mine is worth 15,000 ......Is that damm motor worth 15 grand...Same truck different motors 15 grand I just dont know.Or spend all my money and go 14 for 38,000 with all its egr stuff...?????? or keep mine big lift 38 tires and new rims and mabe be a blower ????????

Do you NEED a diesel or WANT one? Something you need is priceless, something you want can cost ya. The way I see it, if you paid $50 for a $5 item and used it when you needed it most, you got a deal. If you paid $5 for a $50 item and didnt use it, you wasted $5. Thats just me.

Is it a 5.9 or 6.7? I ask because the 5.9's seem to have a higher asking price for the 06-08 from what I've seen (06-07 5.9, 07.5-08 6.7).
With that said, I bought my 07 6.7 with 90K for just over 23K almost two years ago, 30K seems really high regardless.

You are also paying for that heavy frame, trans, front and rear, motor, turbo, coolers that the 1500's do not have.
