Hi Everyone,

I've decided to take my audio build further and will be going to 3 way components up front and a coax in the rear door for rear-fil. Without boring everyone to death I'll get straight to it. I am looking for an audio processor. I've been doing reasach over time (thanks Tom) but I am still up in arms on which to choose. I'll likely have 8 dedicated channels out and I want to keep using my PAC Amp Pro thats already in and functioning with my current upgraded system.

I want something thats fairly easy to tune (user friendly) has an app I can use with a tablet or phone, and at a reasonable price. I've looked at Audison, Audio Control, Apline, Helix, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio and the lsit goes on and on....

I've even considered getting a JL Audio VXI amp and starting there too.

I'm open to the idea of have a remote with it as well so keep that in mind.

Discuss!

thanks.

I have the Axess DSP, with two JLAudio amps, a RD400/s for the doors/dash and a RD500/1 for a 12" sub in a FoxBox. Honestly I was leaning towards the Rockford Fosgate DSR1 but the local shop really pushed the Axess, so I went with it. It works well enough, is a bit overkill really in that it has 30+ EQ adjustments which can be overwhelming to tune. Also has standard stuff like crossover, delay, clipping control, chime control, etc. Install is much easier with vehicle specific harnesses n such, but it did crap out on me recently. They replaced it for free of course but was slightly annoying, and hopefully doesn't happen again. If it does I will likely move to a different model ie the RF. RF has less EQ control IIRC but does have more crossover rolloff control.

Like you said, so many options. I had the Alpine H800 with remote for a while and it was a powerful dsp and fun to play with. Mosconi has good units too.
Check youtube to see if there are any in-depth videos showing how each interface works and see if anything stands out. Some things about dsp's annoy some people...some things dont. I can't stand having to rely on a laptop to tune as a lot of my music files are not so great so there is constant adjustment which I like to do on the fly...kinda why I loved my Alpine....and am currently using a Pioneer P99....I am always tweaking my tune. When it comes to sheer power and flexibility, its tough to beat the Helix models...they're very good processors

Yeah, the laptop thing is kind of a pain. Especially when I have my iPhone and iPad with me most of the time. That’s the one reason I might switch from my Mosconi 8to12 to something with a solid iPad app.
