Hey Everyone,
So I have my 2015 Ram 5500 Laramie mechanic rig and recently I've had issues with my SiriusXM app on my Uconnect 8.4 (I believe should be an RA4 CA but I'll check tomorrow via Dealer menu) running 16.13.13 Software
first thing I noticed was one morning I started the truck and radio was on Channel 0 and not activated so I reactivated and worked the entire day no issue driving all over hells acres and getting the crap beat out of it on the pipeline and it stayed connected. Next morning start it back up to go to work and same issue, lost activation credentials. I reactivated and again worked all day no issue until next morning. (Batteries are new, no parasitic draw and no issues starting so its not a voltage issue overnight, not that it should affect the radio this way anyways but weirder things have happened) I went into Engineering menu and Sirius Antenna is reading all good and has connectivity. Also tried resetting SiriusXM from that menu. I removed the radio and checked the Sat plug on the back and it has solid connection, no kinks in cable and NAV GPS is working properly as well.
Another issue I noticed is that half of my presets are there but the other half are "Set Preset" when this happens and my presets that are there aren't in the previous positions. Once I reactivate the Radio my presets will align back to where they should be. Now some days I can turn the truck off 10 times and no issue then other days it will drop the credentials immediately after the first restart. There was the odd day I would get "Looking for Signal" but would also display all of my presets messed up like usual. All these times when it was reverted to the activate radio channel I could hear audio on all the preview channels so it had a connection.
Now I'm wondering if this is a software issue or a hardware issue right at the radio or possibly an antenna issue. Before I start loading up the parts cannon and launching parts at it I was trying to just reinstall 16.13.13 in it but since the Uconnect website says I'm up to date on the VIN it doesn't give me an option to redownload the software(who knows where the USB I originally used for update is, that was years ago) So does anyone have access to the software for me to put on a USB to reflash system or has anyone seen this before and its failing hardware issue. (If its the head unit I would probably just update to a UDB unit for the wireless carplay setup)
