I’m new to this and I’m looking for as much help as possible. I bought these seats that came out of a 2020 1500. Like a rookie I did not notice that the seat brackets are no where near the same as my 05 2500. Is there any way I can salvage this mistake of mine. I already tried installing them and that’s how I came to find out my mistake. Can I just swap out the seat brackets? Again looking for any ideas for help. Thanks in advance.

The seats will bolt right to your floorpan no problem, you will have to mount the center seat yourself since the 3rd gen uses the seat brackets to mount it.

So I did attempt to bolt them into my vehicle but the seat brackets bolt holes don’t line up. And when I compared them to my stock seats there is a clear difference in brackets. Or am I simply not seeing something that is obvious to the more experienced person.

You are going to have to figure out where you need the seat Height.
Maybe using wood blocks to Mock up the seat height & leg length that you will need.
Once you figure that out, & are happy with it. Then you can switch over to metal

In a 1500 anything 2018 and newer (I believe) is the new style seat and will not bolt in a gen 3 , anything newer in the 2500/3500 series up to 23 again (I believe) bolts right in with some minor effort... Check my post "Laramie seats installed" just below this thread...

In what way are they not lining up? I can already tell your seat tracks aren't aligned right in that pic (happens when the lever gets hit on manual seats and they aren't bolted in). Other than that, the mounting points look just like the 4th gen seats I put in my 3rd gen (and they physically bolted right in):

Ok. So I took your advice and lined up the rails thinking that during my frustration I overlooked something. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work. Your seats in the picture stay up right by themselves. The seats I have don’t. I took better pictures of the seat rails and hopefully it helps. Again sorry if I don’t understand what you’re trying to teach me.

Ah I see now. Do the rear mount holes line up with the ones in the truck at all?

Not at all. Neither do the front holes. I was thinking maybe just transfer all the material and seat pads to my seats. Or just take the L and try to get some of my money back.

You might be able to do that, might be worth a try. Maybe you can sell them and find a set of early 4th gens to use. I think mine were out of a 2012 (this was 4 yrs ago) and physically they bolted right in, though I used a console and converted to floor shift so I don't personally know how well a 4th gen jump seat goes in but I do know that people have made the swap.
