Could you be more wrong? E Torque is an option on the 5.7L and it’s extra. What exactly are you hoping to make future buyers aware of? Issues come up with new vehicles, that's what the warranty is for. There were some failures with the 48v battery system on 2019 models, which is kind of expected with a new design. But that doesn't mean failures won't happen with any system. These are very complex vehicles. Outlier failures will happen. Again, that's what the warranty is for. Ram isn't producing any more 1500's without etorque so if a buyer wants to avoid the system they'll have to buy another brand. I get it, having something fail on a new vehicle sucks. And it seems like you're venting out of frustration. But your truck will get fixed under warranty. And the chances that something else goes bad in the near future are actually very low.
You might want to fact check yourself. Etorque was an option on 2019 thru 2022 models, and did cost extra on 2019 and 2020 models, but starting with 2021 and up there was no extra charge for it. Starting in 2023 you can't get a Hemi without it unless you move up to a 2500.Could you be more wrong? E Torque is an option on the 5.7L and it’s extra.
My 2023 Ram 1500 v6 is experiencing electrical issues, battery Guage goes nuts...and the truck will throw itself into park and it applies the electronic brake (parking brake). It's already had the alternator/generator replaced a month ago. It's back to doing the same thing again.Hi all,
Some of you may have experienced the issue I’m about to bring up, but I also wanted to get this out so future buyers are aware.
I just bought a new ‘23 1500 with the 5.7 Etorque. Check engine light came on and now it (battery) isn’t charging. Voltage just keeps going down. I’m still waiting on the dealer to come get it. Only 2,000 miles on it! I don’t know yet but I’m guessing the generator is faulty.
Thanks

I had this happen, the red terminal wire on the battery was loose.Hi all,

They build these with cheap lead acid batteries. When they start to die, which happens often because of the heavy loads, they have power fluctuations and cause glitches. Sadly, if they replace it under warranty, it will be with another lead acid battery that will also live a short life. The more electronics, the bigger the load, the faster they die. If you plan on keeping it for a long time, get an AGM battery, pop the plug to put in the bigger sized H8 and be done.My 2023 Ram 1500 v6 is experiencing electrical issues, battery Guage goes nuts...and the truck will throw itself into park and it applies the electronic brake (parking brake). I agree that the air suspension was troublesome in 4th gens. But this is a 5th gen forum. Air suspension problems are rare on this generation 1500. Not saying people haven't had issues with it, but reports of issues with it are pretty rare in the Ram forums I regularly go to. The air suspension on our 2020 Limited has been flawless through four winters. It's certain that the system will fail eventually, but the redesigned system on 5th gens seems to be pretty solid.I had the option of e-torque when I ordered my truck. I declined and also air suspension was deleted. Had air ride in my 2017 and it was a night mare.
I had a similar experience although I have more miles. 39K+. I was driving to pick someone up at the airport and the CEL came on. Didn't think much of it at the time guessing it was a faulty sensor or something. Got to the cell phone lot and realized the voltage on the gauge was dropping. When I turned to that screen (I have a Limited Long horn so no dials it all digital) it was at 11.9V. Should have been at 14V or so since truck was on. As I was waiting it kept dropping. Fast forward after, it died and cops, security, finding, neutral cord to pull etc. I had it towed back to dealer. Next day after they looked at it they said the MGU needed to be replaced. Also it is not under warranty. I purchased the platinum extended warranty that will cover it, however the part is back ordered and they wont have it for 4-5 weeks. So I don't get my truck back till next year and the ext warranty only covers a rental for 5 days at $25/day. which is about half the cost. About a month and a half ago the starter needed to be replaced. I'm guessing the MGU if tested at that time would not have had the 48V it is supposed to have and probably caused some over current issues with the starter. Just a guess though. Regardless I have had 2 catastrophic failures rendering this vehicle unusable. The first one was fixed in 2 days. The next one is going to hurt. I use this vehicle for work every day. To be paying over $1K/Month for a vehicle I cant use that is less than 2 years old is a little salty. Other than these issues I do love my truck. Ram boxes are a must for anyone in construction like I am.Hi all,

Update. The dealer granted the goodwill warranty and is going to cover the entire repair and rental. They still do not have an ETA on the MGU. At least I do have a vehicle. I am frustrated that the part is back ordered. That being said at least they are doing the right thing.I had a similar experience although I have more miles. 39K+. How about today?I've had both.
A 2019 1500 Hemi and a 2021 1500 Hemi etorque.
Of the two, I have no issues with the etorque and would buy another by choice.
I really like it as it seems to have more on quick acceleration.
The 2021 is clearly a more advanced product over the 2019 and with improved quality.
With what is on the horizon, the day is coming when you will wish that you had a hemi etorque.
The vast majority of etorque owners haven't had any issues. The odds are you will be fine. As with pretty much any issues with any vehicle, the number of actual problems is greatly exaggerated because people post threads in forums about the problems they are having. Very few ever make a thread just to say how well their vehicle is running. I would rather have a non-etorque Hemi but it would not be a deal breaker if I was shopping for a used truck. How about today?
How is your Hemi eTorque now?
I own a 2018 Tundra that I am selling and my two options are a 2023 RAM 1500 5.7 eTorque or a 2020 Tundra 5.7
Took the 2023 RAM for test rides and i like it = i am greatly concerned about a POSSIBLE problematic eTorque Hemi
Please let me know how your 2021 eTorque has been for you - Thank You

Rule OUT Chevy as they have multiple problems as well on their 5.3L EcotechThe vast majority of etorque owners haven't had any issues. The odds are you will be fine. There is no perfect truck. Any brand has the potential for problems. Which is why I generally buy new to take advantage of the warranty. Our non-etorque Limited has been a great truck for almost five years now. We did have an issue with the rear window leak which took out the RF hub, but that's been addressed and the cab remains dry (knock on wood).Rule OUT Chevy as they have multiple problems as well on their 5.3L Ecotech
Last night Member @RamDiver encouraged me towards the 2021/22 NON-eTorque Hemi which i just now test drove = POWER
HOWEVER, upon research even the NON-eTorque has issues with overheating which causes the manifold to warp = not interested in going thru that.
And this 2021 was running hot on a 30degree cold day - lifted the hood and can smell some type of excessive heat = almost like melting plastic
Brings me BACK AROUND to the 2025 RAM 1500 with the i6 Hurricane = i just hate buying a 1st Year New Design motors, no matter who the Make/Model
It will either be the 2025 Hurricane or a 2020 Tundra which is bullet proof
PS - i already test drove the I6 Hurricane and the ACCELERATION is SCARY FAST = love SPEED
