Just a quick question im just looking to replace my muffler with a pipe of straight pipe, but leaving everything else, Is this going to effect the performance or hurt the engine?

Yes! OMG Explosions and death!

You might lose a touch of low end grunt, and gain a touch top end.
The cats will provide plenty of back pressure to keep you from damaging your engine.

Why would you need back pressure?

On a stock cam, the back pressure from the cats, muffler, and the terrible frickin stock headers is accounted for in the grind of the cam. Getting rid of any of that will effect your engine minimally, but just getting rid of the muffler won't do much.
