I was talking with a good friend who knows a really good engine builder in Memphis. He was telling him that he had recently been replacing a lot of valve seats in the V8 hemis. Seems the factory didn’t cut the pockets the seat fits in and they get loose and ultimately fall out. He cuts the pockets deeper when he replaces them. Made me think about the “tick”. Maybe the valve seat clicking when the valve closes? He didn’t say if it affected both intake and exhaust or not but it was enough to get me thinking. Any thoughts?
