Hello all, I need help please.... My son & I recently replaced all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs (on my 2003 3.7 Ram) and now it takes long to start.
I feel like there's air in the line or not getting enough gas or something. I have to turn the key 1/2 way to leave the ignition on for like 4-5 seconds THEN i fully turn the key so it can start. Sometimes it takes 3xs.
It did NOT do this before I replaced the coils. Would there be a relay going bad? or maybe something we did not plug back in right? Please help. thanks!

The delay in starting, or turning the ignition to run to allow the fuel pump to engergize and prime the fuel line, sounds like a defective fuel pump regulator - or one that is disconnected somehow.

Does your engine have an external fuel pressure regulator that is mounted on or near the engine? I’d bet something was bumped or disconnected on the regulator, causing it to not hold the fuel line pressure.

Was there anything wrong with the coils themselves? What brand parts did you go with? Hopefully not ebay or Amazon specials. If the problem started right after the plug and coil change then I'd be going back over my work. Depending on where you got the parts I'd be reordering them from a known good source and putting the old ones back in til the new ones arrive.
