My new HID fogs stopped working shortly after install so I'm looking for suggestions. Here's the basic rundown:

- 2007 QC with factory fogs- swapped in 35w fogs
- During install/testing both sides were functioning.
- After final install, checked again and driver's side wasn't working
- Double checked connections, polarity, etc and no loose connections, no grounds used with plug n plug setup
- Switched bulbs to check for bulb/ballast issue; on start up after switching I noticed a horrible burning smell and neither light was working
- Closer inspection shows that the bulb originally on the driver's side smelled burnt and had discolored gas inside the bulb
-Now neither ballast will function correctly even when connected directly to the battery terminals

After contacting the company where I ordered it, they offered to charge me shipping and full price to send a replacement and refund me for the 1st kit if it is determined to be faulty, after I also pay return shipping for the 1st one to be tested. Any ideas how I can get this fixed?

Is it possible the original drivers side ballast was bad, and burnt up the bulb, and when you swapped it to trouble shoot it burnt out the second bulb?

Just wondering, where did you get the kit?

I was wondering something similar about the bulb being bad and frying both ballasts. I purchased them at retro solutions.

the fogs are pretty quick and easy. if theyre giving u issues its not ur truck its the ballasts most likely. most of these hids are chinese crap. i had 8000k in my fogs and they worked fine. sometimes only one came on, or none came on and had to flip the switch a few times. like the ballast wasnt getting a signal to turn on. i took them out tho cuz they looked corney with white headlights since i gave up with hids in the headlights. i since put them in my 18 wheeler and they have been working for about 500 hours. when i orginally bought 35w hids for the heads/fogs i opened up the ballasts and they were filled with dirt and rocks... they also got very hot. freakn ghetto.

That's kind of what I thought about the fogs, and install was very easy, but what's frustrating is that this is a highly recommended vendor from other forum members for quality and customer service. From Retroshop I had that experience for my heads, but from retro solutions I'm shocked after the positive reviews from others on here. Not sure I want to sink more money into these since I was down to the dollar on budget for this mod, so guess I'll forget about these if I don't get any help from them to rectify the problem
