HID issue.

allright...what i currently got as my setup is.

all 35w ballasts. 6k HID kit for Fogs/lows/Highs.

My issue : they are randomly turning off. the high beams sometimes work with the fogs? thats odd...

and i completely lost all lights last night on the highway. Then randomly got my highbeams back...and had to shut my truck off to regain all my lights back again.

I got resistors, capacitors and wire harnesses.

what on earth is going on?

Check your resistors and grounds. I had a resistor fail. Killed the whole system. Found the bad one by touch. Others were hot while the bad one was cold.

but why does it all work when i turn off my truck and turn it back on?

Maybe it's getting ready to fail completely. Mine went dark while parked and it took a minute and a few turns of the knob to get them back. I didn't pay much attention to it. Two or three nights later I was limping home with just fog lights.

What year is your truck and how many resistors per harness?

umm its a 2015 i don't know that setup they used. it was done at a shop.

The 2015 and up is very special, there is a lighting computer and nobody knows how it works . No fuses, relay or something like this. When you don't have the right anti flicker modul you will allways have issues. The computer shut the lights off, there is no voltage to the lamps...

The Ram lights and canbus system are pretty finicky and not all kits will work well.

It may be a ground, it may be not enough resistance, it may be no resistance to the passenger side (a lot of kits don't plug anything into that side and that never works well) or it could be a failed resistor.

I'd find out what brand HID kit that shop put in.

it's a lumens HID kit, not a cheap brand either. also i was told to do this.( By my dash, by the alpine system trey, to pop that off and unplug the wire going to that nipple sensor crap.) i guess thats a drl sensor? and that might fix my issue?
