Retroshop. East to install especially with the new CANBUS harness. Click, click. Repeat.

Here's mine with 35 w 5000 k in the lows. Bright enough that I don't see any need to do the highs. Check your local laws tho. In AB HID's have to be in a projector. So highs and fogs are a no, no.

Simple.

This kit, HIR2, canbus adapters - 2013+ Dodge Ram HIDs

You go from the OEM plug inside the light to the adapter, to the ballast then to the bulb. Click click boom. (deja vu? LOL)

nothin' to it.

It's literally plug and play I think there are only 3 connections per light for the low beams. I'm far from a mechanic.

Your guy is right. You do need more than the ballasts or you will get a bulb out error. With the CANBUS harness I mentioned it tricks the computer into thinking it still has a normal halogen bulb in the housing.

I'd seriously get in touch with JJ from Retroshop. He could hook you up with all the right gear and explain it better I'm sure.

Edit. Lol. He beat me to it. Need to type faster and get interrupted less.

I ordered from Retroshop and am glad I did! I had a cheap HID kit on my 2011 and it wasn't near the quality or light output that my Retroshop HID'S are! I put in lows and highs. The lows are great but when you flip to high beams the difference is huge again! I'd deffinitly get highs too if I were you! I have fogs in the shop that I haven't installed yet! All 55W 6000K lights

Okay I'm almost sold!
...more money?!?! Great you guys are killin me!

JJ shoot me a heads-up before you finish up my new heads, (about a month yet?)
and might have to include the HID upgrade kit in the same shipment.

I'd go with the 35w/5k combo too,
but not sure which is the better harness/adapter choice for me?
is the canbus system more of a 13+ application or will it work for my 10' too?

Sounds like a better setup, and cheaper too.

I got 2x 5000k kits from MaxLux for $60 a piece shipped and they've been perfect since I put them in. Can-bus ballasts and all.

not a month.....just gotta get 'em opened. ;) I have spare parts going to the painter for paint this Friday, so they should be back in about 12 days (from today). But....time......is fun. I'm about 30 builds deep at the moment. :word:

The canbus setup works great on on the 09+ quad / projector setup......as long as its not the H13 ones, all good. (H13 ones we are getting swapped up ..... sometime. still a long ways out on that though).

Since my heads will already be apart for painting,
can you just install the HID's/ballasts at re-assemble ?

or is that only included in the FX-R retro fit upgrade?

we can do that.

Normally on a sale of the lights and parts we don't, as the lights are all boxed up, etc. When they are here in all their glory though.......sure, I'll shove some ballasts and bulbs in 'em. ;)
