Well i took my 2012 rt to the dealer because i bought this truck used and when i did it said service the tpms system well they just called me and said the hids it has on the foglights are probably interfering with the signal of the tpms system. I want to keep the hids but not if i have to deal with the tpms light always being on so i was wondering if anyone has an answer on how to fix this or should i just get rid of the hids?

its ALWAYS on?

Mine would come on when I fired up the HIDs - the TPMS operates in a range that the ballasts pass through when they fire up. BUT, it should go off.

What brand are in it?

I know that what they said is true. But I thought it only affected the tpms when the HIDs were turned on. Mine only effects it if turned on for long periods of time.

To tell you the truth im not sure what brand the hids are because when i bought the truck it already had them from the previous owner and the light stays on if the lights are on or off and does not read any of the sensors

Well it should only stay on for like 3-4 secs when you start up heres what you do --go to store buy factory stock fog bulbs remove the hid's in the fogs ( real simple they are plug and play) put stock bulbs back in see if light come on. If it does take back to dealer and say umm ya what now. If not then i dont know

I had a similar radio problem with crappy HID ballasts. Buy a set from JJ and retro solutions, your problem will be solved.

Ya but before that he should put stockers in just to make sure they are like 10 bucks

I'm going to try the stock ones just to see if it's that. I need to take a look at what brand they are since I never looked at them

If its on all the time I'd think that'd be a bad tpms sensor.

It would be ok if it did that but mine stays on all the time and never reads the tire pressure so I'm goin to try the stock ones if they still don't work I'll take it back to the dealer to make them fix it

Ya but some dealers see after market stuff and want to blame that right away so if stock ones go in and its still on then they have no choice but to fix it.

I can't even tell what kind of hids they are the ballast is just a little black rubber box... I disconnected them and I disconnected the battery should that be enough to reset the light? Or how do I reset the sensors
