I don’t leave mine in for the simple reason I don’t like to hear it bang around on the bumpy roads we have around here. Mine stays in the storage under the back seat until it’s needed.

Great point. Perhaps I will use it when I parallel park!

I have an anti-vibration receiver pin. This takes all the vibration noise away from the trailer loading/unloading as well.

Here is an example:
https://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Hitch-towing-security/Anti-Rattle-Receiver-Pin/?id=16372

https://www.amazon.com/Lets-Go-Aero...78809&sr=1-10&keywords=anti+rattle+hitch+lock

I have towed loaded car haulers down to my 8x4 utility trailer with my motorcycle on it. 0 noise at the hitch.

This is awesome and would be ideal, because I would like to have the step.

Respect to my brother from PA!

Mine saved my 11 1500 already. Some lady slammed into the back of me hitch went right through her bumper into the radiator. Only a scratch on my ball and hitch. Mine always stays in to protect my suspension. New hitch when I got my 16 2500. About 45 lbs.20180427_214453.jpg

I left mine in on my '01 and had alot of people ***** about hitting it with their shin. I told them to keep away from the back of my truck and you wont have that problem.

That is the only reason I have a hitch on my truck as I don't haul anything currently. Much rather have them hit that first. Also keeps my from backing into anything and hurting my chrome bumper.

Jay

That's why the build RANCH HAND "Summit" and "Legend" series Bumpers for the front :p
Not to mention they can rip a whitetail in half at interstate speeds, look that one up on YouTube.

Google "receiver hitch for step bumper", get a bunch of hits back.

http://www.gorhino.com/HitchStep this for rhino

Never thought about using that as protection, good idea, I always hit my shin on the darn thing!

Saaaayyy, I really like that idea!
Honestly, most cars on the road are more at risk of hitting my spare tire before the bumper takes out the windshield, it's so high.:driver:

didn't even have anything in the hitch when the truck was lightly tapped, but it still prevented any contact with the bumper.
