I had my spare in the rear of the truck bed, Seeing as I hated the thought of changing a flat on my way to Ohio last month. Well I did a few wot's since then, and it really never moved. UNTIL NOW!!! The sc lives up to the challenge. That tire ended up against my tailgate!!! I went performance, then decided too go advanced.I'm running 89 in a 91 tuned motor, seeing as 89 is part 91 and 87,thats right it's a blend. I see no harm in running this one tank and replacing with 91. I was literally pinned too the back of the seat when 1st went 2nd!! Or vice versa I should say. Now I can do those drag times, Gotta find a safe spot first. And I need sleep, I've been up since 8 last nite.So if I don't reply thats why.:birgits_tiredcoffee
not bad for a "senoir citizen" lmao.

Did you add the advance trans tuning?

Also, one tank of 89 should be ok. You will not get all of the power out of it, since as soon as you get any knock from the lower octane fuel, the timing will be cut down. Get some 91 or 93 in it and you will see more of an improvement.

Do not run the 91 tune with 89. Your KR sensors are pulling timing like crazy every time you get on it. I guarantee it. Unless you have a KR gauge, don't even think about doing this.

I would worry bout knock because alot of the tunes performance comes from advancing the timing.

I can use the 87 and switch back ,not a problem.I was more leary of doing the latter than what I'm doing now, no 89 tune as it were. Yes silver I went advanced tune. I'm at 120 mph And boosted the rev limiter too 5900. She's 1-2 at 5700 and 2-3 at 5650. btw.

All right. So I can do what? Will I still get the performance tune with the stock 89 setting? Or do as Jjay suggests and performance tune with the 87? There's a poll question for ya!!lol

Go buy some octane boost and add it to your fuel, that may work.

Can you datalog with the SC to see if you are getting any KR?

Glad you are liking it man, if you haven't purchased the trans and torque management tune you are still missing out on something big IMO. Yes, performance tune wakes up the truck big time but until you get that HP to the pavement by adjusting part throttle shift points and torque management the fun factor is suffering. Love my SC.

Glad to hear you are liking it rocket. Do you have the trans tuning options so you can dial in all your shifts? If you didn't get that yet, get it. It is a great upgrade and makes driving the truck much more fun.

Just alittle update, First sleeping is for girls! Soon as I logged off. the phone rang a buddy of mine cut loose from work early and said He could work on a pesky outside faucet. It needed attention so he came over, While he was doing the plumbing I did the 87 tune. Don't really know what too expect but I have time now too check out the downloads, Do they paypal as well, at superchips.com? And as far as work goes I booked off. So i'm online till I pass out! lol
