Apologies if I have this question in the incorrect forum. Not sure if it belongs here or on the “exterior” forum.

Okay, I’ll cut to the chase. What I find MOST ANNOYING and sure other people find the same, when I get out of the truck, the damn horn sounds three times! It is annoying and there are times I want o find the dern thing and yank it out!!!

Why does this occur and is there any way I can get it to stop this incessant noise? I looked in owner’s manual, but cannot locate the subject matter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure it's telling you that you're trying to lock the truck with the fob inside.

It was a new feature with the 2022 model year. No way to disable it via any settings. Holding the FOB against the driver side window, front or rear, before you close the door will make the truck think the FOB is still inside and it won’t honk. It’s a PIA to have to do that but it works. Stellantis if you’re listening: give us a way to disable this feature!!

Horns are located behind the grill, unplug 2 connectors and your truck will never honk at you again lol

It's telling you that you exited the truck and closed the door with the engine running and the fob in your pocket. The only way I can override it is to put the fob in the cup holder when I get out with the engine running.

Thank you TC. I know what it’s telling me, but it’s not listening to what I’m saying to it. Perhaps it doesn’t respond well to this sailors choice of words.

Thanks Keith, I’ll give that a try. Besides annoying me, it annoys others as well.
I said “before you close the door”. I should have said “as you close the door”. It works, it’s just a royal pain to have to deal with.

I've taken to just leaving the door open in most cases with my '22. For sure a frustrating issue.

My 21 does that also. Took me a while to figure out what was triggering it.
