Horn and steering wheel controls quit

I just purchased my 2015 Ram Outdoorsman with the 5.7. It's got 13k on it and I noticed the other day that the horn stopped working. I'm not sure if it happened at the same time or not but the steering wheel controls which navigate the dash computer also don't seem to work. Cruise seems to work fine

Anyone else have this problem?

It's possible that the wires for the harness got pinched inside the steering wheel's cover and/or behind the air bag. May have happened during a recall for the wiring harness in there.

Take it to a dealer while it's under warranty (I assume you did just purchase it from a dealer).

Check the fuse 1st

Giving me 10 mins and can let you know what fuse to check

F88 it's a blue fuse 15 I think and f49 is a red 10 fuse I would check those 1st if not I would go to the dealer asap

This just happened to my 2014 BigHorn. Steering wheel controls and horn dead.
I checked the mentioned fuses and they are still good.

Did you get this resolved? My truck is out of warranty, so hope it is easy fix.

My horn just quit but I also noticed it no longer chirps when locking the truck with the remote. All other controls on the steering wheel are fine. Anybody find a solution for this yet?

under the dash are a couple wire harnesses that go up the column and slide into the steering column goodie bits. (plastic surrounds that clip onto/over the column) check those to make sure they are still connected and tight. after that, you can pop the airbag off and check the connection to the wheel itself.

easiest way to do this, is to put your phone in front of the instrument cluster, put it in camera, swap to front camera and watch the screen. there are 3 clips that are open in the back and you'll need a screwdriver to pop them off. airbag comes right out and has 2 wires clipped in.

you can check the connection to the wheel once its off.

wire might have got pinched/cut...harness might have got pulled...

If it is not the fuses, I would be replacing the clock spring.

It may be covered by recall. Check to see if the truck has had a recall for the steering wheel harness performed or if it's still open ... recalls are free.

So I have a similar problem. My horn works my cruise control also works. But the buttons that control volume and skip are not working. I was driving down the road and pressed the Vr button but it could not understand the command so I didn't think much of it but then I went to skip a song and those buttons didn't work so I started pressing all the other ones and only the cruise control work. Is there some setting in Alfa obd that would fix this.

So my 2018 ram 3500, horn stopped working, left controls do not work the cluster and light switch and keys do not chime when door is open.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Hi and thank you for getting back to me.

After 2 attempts of discounting the batteries on my 6.7 ram 2018, first time for 20 minutes and second time over night, driver ground, passenger ground, passenger hot and driver hot it started working again.

What would cause the horn and left steering wheel controls to stop?

Did anyone ever find a fix for this issue with no horn or left side steering wheel controls. I just started having this same problem. Seems to me there are several people with this issue. Would like to think Ram would stand behind their trucks and have a recall for this. Pretty sure it could be considered safety issue with no horn. I know where I live roadside inspections include having to have a horn.

I'm having the same problem here. Few months ago I bought the truck left car dealerships and horn didn't work. Went back the very next day to show them and the damn thing worked. Now I'm back at it again with this all as well as the left side controls for the dash not working as well then and now.
Anything I can do to fix this myself would be much appreciated.
