There's a setting in alfaobd which can remove the delay, allowing instant hirn sound. I can't remember where it is located, but it does work. I haven't had a horn delay in about 6 months.

There were discussions on here about it last year. I don't remember if it was as a separate topic or as part of another thread.

I wish that were true but there are many members far more experienced than you and I who say no.

The CAN bus system is complex and busy and apparently, the designers didn't prioritize the horn use as that important.

Searching AlfaOBD with the term horn produces several options to have horn accompaniment like remote starting or locking doors after 1 press or 2 on the FOB plus one more option.

I recall feeling so stoked after finding the following option, I was sure it was the answer.

To my dismay, the default setting for this option was yes and that's exactly where it was set on my truck. I don't recall if I tested with this set to NO, I usually do confirm for myself but...

If you spend time learning about the CAN bus system, the signal path from the mechanical horn button and all the comm data involved, you may understand the horn function has not been given any significant priority to make it faster on this data network.

This topic has been discussed 'ad nauseum' here at RamForum and many other Ram sites. I'm confident if there was a simple solution, it would have been plastered everywhere, long before now.

As a practical and cost-effective alternative, many of us have discussed wiring in a separate horn with a relay and a momentary contact switch accessible to the driver.
Cost-effective shopping should have the total cost of parts about $20 or $30, provided you supply your own labour.
