The front end components on the '13+ 3500's and '14+ 2500's are the stoutest out of the big 3 IME. I've blown through SD front ends in less than 60,000km's and they bump steer and wander right from factory. Even the GM's IFS seam to outlast the Ford's around here. I drive a ton of gravel, washboards, bush roads, etc and the roads here are awful. Tons of pot holes, ruts and frost heaves. Northern BC is not friendly to vehicles and my front end is as tight as day 1 at 123,000km's. A lot of oil patch companies are getting around 280,000 to 320,000km's on factory front ends. I've never needed an alignment even and it tracks dead straight, no bump steer or wandering and everything just feels tight.
Ram has majorly improved the front ends on these trucks from 3rd gen and early 4th gen's. They are by far the best driving truck on the market.
I am interested in this topic, as I have two the Gen4 CTD trucks. I have heard some rumors about the front ends not lasting too long with the weight of the cummins to support. The cummins weighs 1100lbs according to spec sheets.
like 6narow said. fords have bump steer from day one and death wobble is practically inevitable before 30k mi. usually closer to 20k. if you look underneath, the ford front end is flimsy with cheaply made components. a poor design all the way around. its no mystery why the front end flops around like a wet noodle. tons and tons of complaints to nhtsa, lawsuits etc etc. right off the lot ,customers are having to buy aftermarket tracbars, shocks, tie rod ends, dual steering stabilizers ,. just to make the truck some what bearable to drive
I own a 2018 F-250 and drive a 2017, 2015 f-350 at work and all three trucks have well over 30000 miles with zero issues. The 2015 has 125000 miles on original parts afaik. I don't think what you say is true.
