How big of tires can I go on 20x9 with no lift?

Just got my truck, 2014 Laramie, no air ride, factory 6 spoke chrome clad 20x9. Would like to get some beefy tires, but what can I safely put on without having to lift? Would like to get 33 or 35x12.5, but I imagine there will be rubbing issues with both.

Are the Bilsteins just shocks? I am trying to stay away from dropping any major money. I installed a leveling lift on my old Ecoboost and don't wanna mess with that again. Just looking for an easy way to get a more aggressive tread and slightly bigger tire since my truck will actually be going into the country. If I plan on lifting, it will be somewhere around a 4 to 6 inch actual lift, something beefy, but that's wayyy down the road, which is why I don't wanna do anything like that now, just tires.

BTW, what step bars are those? Do they keep stuff off the under edge and side of your truck?

The bars are N-Fabs from 4 wheel supply. I guess they keep some stuff off. I hear rocks get dislodged from tires and ping the bars. I plan on a 4 or 6 inch lift soon, but couldn't stand the girly stock tires that came with the truck, they almost got me stuck in the desert. I knew I could use the Bils with a real lift, so I started with the lift shocks(Bilsteins). Now my truck is presentable until I get mo lift.

your stock tires are 33's. You would need to level to fit 35's.

The bilsteing referenced above are leveling shocks.

There's a guy on the other forum(z) that put a new set of 35"x12.5" Gladiators on.

2WD, All stock, no lift/level or wheel spacers, no rubbing except a slight rub on the front sway bar at full steering lock.

Don't rush out and buy just any old 35 x 12.5 though,
not all tires labelled that size measure the same.
Some actually measure 13.5" x 35.5", some are 12" x 34"

Check the manufactures website or TireRack.com

I have 305/50R20 Grabber AT2's (12.4" x 32") on my stock sport wheels,
and I'm dropped 2/3...probably could have done 305/55R20's (12.4" x 33")

I just had 285/65/20 wrangler MTR with stock wheels mounted on my Laramie yesterday. No rub. Manufacture website says they mount at 34.8"x11.5.

I also run 285/65R20 stock suspension and rims. Works great. More of the stuffed look.

Good replies. I am going to go with the adjustable Bilstein 5100's in the front for sure, since they won't affect the suspension like a spacer would.
