I know it is not about just opening a window for fresh air, but I do open my sliding back widow quite often for fresh air, and it isn't as loud as a side window.

My PW has the sun roof. Put it in vent mode and open the back glass and it remains quiet but with good air flow. Also helps if I'm driving after chili night.

On my '19 Ram Laramie 3500 there are no longer levers; only electronic buttons.

For air circulation, there is a recycle button. If that is not lit, outside air should be coming into the truck, no? I do not want A/C, but fresh outside air.

Yesterday was a delightful day here in SW Arizona and I wanted to enjoy the cool, outside air, but all I got was warm air. This has been going on for a long time.

I have a trip to the dealership to have them do another diagnostic next week and if need be they should look into this.

I wonder what is going on.
I have the same issue with my truck only in the opposite direction - it blows COLD air - like the AC is cycling on - even when AC, Defrost and Auto are turned OFF.

I still haven't figured out how to just get a "vent" setting like you are asking so I just roll the windows down (however on the freeway it can be quite noisy).

Expensive electronic junk. Gimmie some knobs/levers like we used to have...

Learned something from this thread. I ordered a set of the window shades from Weathertec to try as this 2021 pickup is really noisy at highway speeds, even with a side window just cracked.

I have the same issue. In my 2016 Ram Big Horn 3.6 I can go to the climate screen and the AC button is off yet the compressor is still engaged. A dealer said that is the way it is. I have thought about adding a simple toggle switch to power wire to the compressor.

Cars used to be made to use out side air for cooling. we had vents and the windows had wings to direct the air. new vehicles arnt designed to drive with the windows down like the old cars that didnt have ac. It would be nice if they would bring back the window wings.

OK, first of all ..
Remove the lower glove box door & Box.

Then take out the Cabin Air Filter & replace it with a

FRAM® Fresh Breeze cabin air filter

Yours is likely packed with that Dust out there
If you see a special price if you buy 2, grab it up.
Out there, you may need to change it every 6 months
All air that enters the cab, enters through the Recirculation Door after it passes over the engine.
Unless your windows are open just a bit
i have the other kind of wind deflectors

View attachment 564095

after the air enters the HVAC system, it passes through the CAF, the HVAC Fan draws the Air in, then pushes it through the Blend Door & at that point, it should bypass the Cab Heater & go out through whatever Vents settings that you set
Reminds me, I have to change mine. I spent a lot of time in the Gila River bottoms hunting this past winter and the dust down there is unbelievable.

GM started switching on air conditioning for the defrost mode in the '70s, and on certain V6s to smooth out the idle.

Regardless of which climate system (manual, touchscreen), outside air is selected anytime Recirculate is not selected, regardless of the mode (panel, floor, panel/floor, etc). The air conditioner circuit is selected in Defrost mode.

Outside air will be at ambient. If coming out of heat mode to air, or from air conditioning to air, there will be a delay in outside air temperature until the heater housing stabilizes.

try setting the temp to the bottom or least amount of warmth. if i do not do this i get the same result where the air blowing in will be warmer than outside temps. i put it to the bottom of the slide scale and it is now the outside air with no warmth added.

When I started reading this string, replacing the cabin filter was my first thought. I finally changed mine about a month ago (6 months after I purchased my 2017 Ram Big Horn 5.7) and it looked like it was never changed.
