On my '19 Ram Laramie 3500 there are no longer levers; only electronic buttons.

For air circulation, there is a recycle button. If that is not lit, outside air should be coming into the truck, no? I do not want A/C, but fresh outside air.

Yesterday was a delightful day here in SW Arizona and I wanted to enjoy the cool, outside air, but all I got was warm air. This has been going on for a long time.

I have a trip to the dealership to have them do another diagnostic next week and if need be they should look into this.

I wonder what is going on.

It's my understanding that if the recycle button is not pushed (light off) then you are pulling in outside air. You still need to have your havc system on. lower the temp to lower than outside air temp. As long as AC button is not pushed, it should draw in outside air. If the temp is set above the outside air temp, it will heat it up to that set temp.

I tried that. Yesterday, it was a nice 70 degrees. I lowered the temp to 65. It still blew warm air.

Open the window. ;)

In all seriousness, you may have a blend door issue that is not allowing the fresh air in. That would be the most likely problem. Put the key into run with engine not running. Cycle the recirc button with fan on 1, you should be able to hear the blend door move.

the blend door shouldnt be hard to get at
just pop out the glove box and you should see it

the actuator wheel can get messed up
had that happen on a charger once, and it stayed closed, was a pain in the winter

The recirc door door doesn't close if the defrost positions are selected, of which then the AC is automatically turned on.
If you just want outside with the least amount of influence from the heater core, set the temperature as cold as possible.

I made the same suggestion as a joke but in reality, open windows makes a lot of noise and buffeting at high speeds. There is no reason you should not be able to get fresh air using the HVAC controls.
I agree , I prefer the windows open, rarely use the air but most of my driving is under 40 mph, no way would make a long highway trip due to the noise.

I have these and open the rear passenger window opposite the driver to the bottom edge of the deflector and open the rear slider. Perfect air flow no buffeting.

What brand are they, TRK?

OK, first of all ..
Remove the lower glove box door & Box.

Then take out the Cabin Air Filter & replace it with a

FRAM® Fresh Breeze cabin air filter

Yours is likely packed with that Dust out there
If you see a special price if you buy 2, grab it up.
Out there, you may need to change it every 6 months
All air that enters the cab, enters through the Recirculation Door after it passes over the engine.
Unless your windows are open just a bit
i have the other kind of wind deflectors

after the air enters the HVAC system, it passes through the CAF, the HVAC Fan draws the Air in, then pushes it through the Blend Door & at that point, it should bypass the Cab Heater & go out through whatever Vents settings that you set

Every Natural Virus begins in China, it begins in the Chinese Villages.
It begins with Swine, ( Pigs, Hogs ) or Avian sources, ( fowl )
Back in 1964 or 1965, i went to a Walled Chinese Village.
The residents believe if you take their picture, you take their Soul.
The villagers walk around the area, among Swine & Fowl

I guess when their Livestock gets sick, they might walk in manure & go to another village infect that villages livestock, etc. etc.

I know it is not about just opening a window for fresh air, but I do open my sliding back widow quite often for fresh air, and it isn't as loud as a side window.
