How do ram trucks know when the door is ajar. As in what makes the 'door' message come on in the dash when door is open

Ok, I can't really tell when I looked around the door. R u certain it's not from the door lock actuator.

Nope, not sure but most door actuation features (interior lights, door ajar message, etc...rely on the plunger switch.

Found this on right front door. Which I think is the cause of my door locks to lock/unlock all by themselves, and very erratically. Whenever I go past 15 mph. I don't know if that piece of rubber is a sensor or not. Haven't had any time to change it out yet.

They’re supposed to lock themselves around 10-15 mph and I think they sometimes unlock by themselves when you put it in park

Yea I know that. But for my truck it keeps on locking and unlocking whist I'm driving over 15 mph, like every 10 sec. same time dome lights and door message on. Like they've gone crazy.
