So I am curious..
Once a month a get email from Mopar, with my truck health check.
Far I know, truck does not have WiFi.
How does it report its condition to Mopar? As it is very up to date on mileage and tire pressure.
Is it doing it via cell, while driving? Thing being, I keep mobile data turned off, so it does not really have a way of uploading data via phone..
Don't bother me, just curious. Kinda kewl.

Via sat link? You sure? Seems to be quite an adventure and coughing up some $$ to SXM for service....

Your truck has a 3g modem built in. It's used for vehicle recovery, remote control, maintenance reporting, and optionally as a WiFi hotspot.

Does receiving the health report require subscribing to a Sirius service?

No, it is not part of the satellite system it's transmitted over the 3g terrestrial link (cellular). The "health report" is just another way to send you spam offers about getting service. I think you can sign up for it on the uconnect site? I stopped mine. Whether you get the emails or not you can rest assured FCA is getting info on your truck all the time though.

Last Sunday my truck experienced a throttle control module fault and within an hour I received an email from MOPAR to get it serviced immediately.

That is the backdrop to my question. I don’t know how my truck “called home” but however it happened, I see that as a nice feature. How do I retain this feature? And is it part of the Sirius XM or Sirius Guardian Service free trial offer that came with my new truck?

The answer will help me to decide whether to renew those subscriptions which are very expensive, hundreds of dollars annually.

To me not worth it. You have a check light if there's an issue and codes are stored for a tech to diagnose. Not as though the uconnect service notifying you to take it in will save you a diagnostic fee at the dealer or prevent the age old cannot replicate problem so it can't be fixed at this time.
