Just wondering if my truck, with good upkeep, will last 500K miles? I have the Oil Catch Can and use the gear limiter to limit the MDS from kicking in about 60% of the time.

I met a guy who runs 5 Ram 2500's in his construction business, all Hemi's. He trades them out at 450,000 miles, now he does drive 70,000 a year. Said he has not replaced a motor or trans in any of them.

He does all Chick Fil A nationwide. Said he tried GM trucks, but they didn't hold up to the work.

Might want to check out the Chrysler lifetime bumper to bumper warranty if you plan on keeping the truck for that kind of mileage. Read the fine print though.

Maintenance is Key; always is.

What's your maintenance schedule?

Oil changes every 7500 miles with Red Line 5-30 and RP filter. And other maintenance as per owners manual.
You got the engine covered; great oil and filter combo. But the manual recommendations aren't designed to get you to 400k.

Coolant: pull the bottom radiator hose every year and top off.
Tranny: drop the pan every 25-30k Change filters and top off.
Rear Diff: 30k
Front Diff: depends on use, for me it's 50k.
T-Case: 30k
PVC valve: 50k
Air filter: every year
Thermostat: every 100k or 5 years.
Spark plugs: I follow the manual
Belts and hoses: every 100k or 5 years.
Cabin filter: I follow the manual

This is basically what my Dad taught me and it had served us both well over the years. If you ever develop oil consumption problems down the road a Conventional high mileage oils are a good option. And bump up an oil weight.
