Regular gas in North Dakota when I was there last week average about $3.85 U.S. a gallon for regular, about $4.25 for premium.

Right now in Southern WI 87 octane is going for around $4.65-ish depending on which station. I've seen it for a little less and a little more.

Wowzers over in north central Iowa regular 87 with 10% corn is between $3.39 and $3.69 lower if you can use UL-88 aka 15% corn with Diesel is $4.69

A month ago I drove an Avis Rental that I picked up in San Antonio, back throught the midwest, and through Saskatchewn, back home to Edmonton. I was quite surprised by how much the price of gas varied from one State to another. It even varied by a buck a gallon within a state. Lowest we paid for regular, all had 10% corn, was $2.89, highest $4.55.

In York, PA, I see regular as low as $3.89 and just across the line into MD, it's at $3.69 in the Bel Air area (Thanks Gas buddy app). As I understand it, the difference all comes down to state taxes.

Thankyou ,I was wrong ,and boy,am I surprised ,shocked really.I must adjust the way I calculate my mileage,I suppose.I had no idea... [in my defence I was on a very high dose Oxycontin for several years when I broke my neck in a MVA], maybe that is when this got buggered up in my head...I wonder what else I have warped ideas about?WHAT A WAKE UP CALL.... I haven't used that(Oxycotin) for 2 decades.(I must be still relearning, like my unlocked Diablo computer....)
I ' pumped gas at a SHELL full service gas station while in University in the 70's and for a while up North,at a (Shell ) in the Haliburton Highlands, in the 90's ,and I was certain it was 4.5litres,and told that to customers.I was wrong all this time. This forum is very informative and I'd like Wild One to take credit for trying to straighten me out.I am very stubborn ,like most Rams....
I stopped being wrong a few years ago, If I am wrong, My hearing is shot, so I don't hear that part, and really don't care.
Imperial and US gallons are a different cat, so we in Canada have always got better milage then the crazy yanks, plus they drive way faster, in a lot of states.
Kind of like some in Alberta. ;)
I don't worry about milage, just try to buy when the price is better, ie never these days.
last fill was a couple days ago in S-W Sask was $1.659 , A year ago it was 1.569
at Canadian tire gas pump, and with my card I will get 4c back on my card, to buy more tools I don't need , if there is a sale on. Son in BC gets screwed on gas prices all the time , about $2 per liter.
btw that price is cheap gas , not 93.

I was having a debate with a friend of mine on this forum,a fellow Canuck, this week.It has to do with how many litres of gasoline in Canada is the amount to make one gallon.I paid $2.15 p litre?(94octane) yesterday. I said 4.5 litres was the answer,in Canada, but we dissagree with one another over this.I am interested in
your answers that either back that claim ,or not.
I'll base my in the future knowledge on what people reply to in the question. If you think you have the answer please reply
3.8L is a gallon, IIRC.

He would be shocked to see the current buyers of Crown Royale.
Back when I used to take a sip or two, I tried that stuff and frankly, I prefer listerine.

I was quite partial though to Alberta Springs.

Been at last 12 years since I quit. Couple of heart attacks and the research I did indicated that alcohol was not heart medication friendly.
Give up the booze or give up the pills, easy choice.
I'm still here, irritating people on a daily basis..........
And to top it off, Crown Royal isn't all that good!
Alberta Springs has a much better taste!

...and would you be the guy who demands a 1/10 of a cent change after buying one gallon of gas? ;)
If you're going to make a comment,at least have the numbers right Sherm. It'd already been posted several times how many litres are in a US gallon when you decided to step in with the "wrong" number

Nope.
I rarely buy gallons of anything where I live.
And we don't have cents anymore. LOL

I always use 3.8 litres when I do the calculations for US gallons, too.

And I round the gas tank size to 100 litres.

I added the reference because throughout the thread, the conversion shown has been mixed between US and Imperial gallons.

While I'm confident that you and most others understand the difference, someone else might find that a bit confusing.

This was the least amount of effort to clarify the difference between the two units of measure.

Plus, I'm a bit lazy.
I used copy & paste from the calculator.

You should not mix alcohol with heart medication,no matter how many litres of gas are in a gallon.Even more important gas is much fell in price today, all over the place.I paid only $1.89 p/ litre for Petro Canada 94 today and was driving all day.It was pretty steady for a few months at $2.25p/litre.

How many litres is one gallon of gas in Canada?

The same as in the USA. Or on the Moon.

Most things here are sold in litres, gas included, since the Mid '70s, IIRC.

When we did have gallons, they were Imperial. 1 Imperial gallons = 4.54 Litres.

Water heaters are sold in litres or US gallons.
