I was planning on getting them all flashed. Was thinking about getting the RA4 code flashed as well. I'm hoping to bring it to a local shop to get it done because I'm not very experienced in electrical and don't want to mess it up. If they can't do it I'll have my dad help me out and will try to take some pics. Thanks for your help!! So if the harness connection made me a harness all I would have to do is plug wires in, cut hole for console, install bracket, and flash codes? Sorry for so many questions.
Yes that's all you would have to do !

If you upgraded from the RA1 to the RA4 completely, with HVAC module , mirror with microphones, sterring wheel controls , bezel & harness with radio and the cluster the you can definitely do this !

Your dealer may not be able to flash the RA4 code because this was not an upgradable option from the factory , let me know if they do or can !

Would it change anything if the code was added though? Or are we not sure yet?

I'm not sure , a couple members here I know have had it flashed in , both had an original RA2 and the RA4 was an option from the factory , you & I being an Express this was not an option on our trim level . So the dealer may not be able to give it to us even if they wanted to.

I have asked one of those guys and he said he didn't notice a diff after the RA4 code ....

I do plan on asking for it the next time I get a code for any reason just to do it though . Unless you beat me to it LOL and find out its either not possible or makes zero differences.

What are the small brass/metal things in the wiring kit?

Here's a pic from earlier in the thread. Those brass things come with the Mopar overhead console wire kit. They are shaped like taco shells.

How to use , slide heat shrink over your wire , twist wires together tightly , crimp wires together with the splice crimps and apply heat to the crimp with your soldering iron and draw solder into the spice from both sides , finally slide heat shrink tubing over the splice and heat it sufficiently enough Untill adhesive comes out at both ends .

Hope this helps

So I picked up an overhead console on eBay for $85.00. I already have the basic overhead from the factory, but this one has every button available (sunroof, rear slider, homelink).

My question is, does anyone know if the homelink module from 2009-2012 (56046064AC) work in 2013+ vehicles? If so, are the plugs already pre-wired?

Yes if you already have the compass module from the factory the plugs are prewired. The modules have 4 poles but only positions 3 are used (+) (-) (CAN). I know a few folks now who have tried a 2012 home-link module in 2013+ trucks and no dice.

yes the plugs are prewired, but the 2012 home-link module will not work on a 2013+ truck.
Darn...well I don't have a garage so no big deal. I really only wanted it to rewire my aftermarket sunroof switch to a factory switch.

I suppose if I have a garage one day I can simply install the correct module since the cutout is already there.

Thanks cptwing!

I have an Express and went from RA1 to RA4. The dealer added the code for RA4 for me when they failed to install the backup camera. However, that code hasn't done anything for me.

Ha, I installed the kit myself a few weeks later. Works great, except for my tailgate lock. Been too lazy to get down to the root of that problem. Will probably wait until it warms up.

Yeh , I definitely recommend installing the OEM backup cam kit oneself , it's pretty easy and works great ...

I just finished installing a "all the bells and whistles" overhead console. Homelink worked plug and play.

I found that the older 4th gens have a different "night light" that goes into the cone-shaped opening. I'm currently toying with the idea of hooking it up as it points more towards the back seat. It will require splicing some wires and has a 3 pin connection unlike the pin-hole light which is 2 pin.

In addition, this overhead has the factory LED map lights. I may or may not swap them for the bulb type map lights from my old overhead console. I'm thinking I'll probably just cover the reflector in red film and call it good (my old bulbs were red LEDs for preserving night sight).
