How to remove these visor clips

Don’t have any experience with 3rd gens but are you sure there’s no screw or bolt of any kind on it? On 4th gens it’s a t20 torx screw

Looks like you already took the cap off
I think you just need to pry that piece out

No bolts. Tried to pull it off, but if I pull any harder I will probably break something.

i think 2006 or 2007 was the last years that they used this particular clip

Why are you removing it?

I'm putting sound deadening material in the roof, so need to remove the headliner.

I’d leave that till last then, it might be you don’t have to remove it at all

Ok. So I had to break 4 clips to get the headliner out. 2 coat hooks in the back and the 2 in the front for the sun visors. The plastic is too old and fragile to work properly. The fronts are supposed to slide back and the piece should come out easily. All 4 broke trying to get them out. 20 year old plastic is just not as robust as it once was. Ordered replacement parts. Anyone in the future looking to do this make sure these parts are still available before you try removing them. Thank you to everyone for your help on this.
