That's gonna take at least 10G or maybe even 8G wiring and at least a 50 amp relay to run it,i'd think Khris. That suckers gonna want alot of power at fan kick in,if it's 600 watts
I have my harness. It’s 8awg wire but I need to swap the 50 amp fuse from the pentastar fan out for a 60 amp. Also remember it’s not run off a relay. That is the pwm control. It uses soft on with ramp up instead of a straight on or off setting like the older v6 fan. Remember that’s why I installed my fan controller to begin with on my v6 fan. My current v6 fan and controller run around 20% when fully warm and cycle higher as needed or full speed for the ac and is all solid state hardware so no relays to burn. I hated using a relay that’s only on/off which is why I like this. I think it’s supposed run 10% when above a certain temp and ramp up as needed. My module also reads ac line pressure from the canbus so it can monitor and adjust fan speed to the ac as well.

Both fans are 21.5” diameter but clearly the newer style hemi fan from the 5th gen is more of a beast. More blades plus the motor is huge. It’s also a perfect fit. Almost makes me wonder if the tow package fan is the same, if it is what about the radiator? Are all they are doing is throwing in a giant fan on the tow package and calling it good? I would need to see a truck with the heavy tow package to get a good look at the radiator and fan.

So, if one wanted just off and on, is the module needed and is it then plug and play on v8 fan?
The newer style v8 fan requires the module to run due to the pwm signal. It is not plug and play because the plug is not the same as the older style v6 fan. If you want plug and play the older v6 fan is your best option

Gotcha. I have the v6 efan now. Looking for a short cut to the v8 efan :)

Unfortunately no shortcuts. Without the pwm signal it will not turn on. The module can do on/off but without communicating to the pcm there is no way to monitor ac on/off or engine temp. You could piggyback the factory fan wire as your switch to the module which is what i was debating on doing for now

Has anyone tried the old-fashioned way of turning efans on and off at certain temps?
Fan switch Just curious if our fans use ground to turn the fan on or they use power to turn the fan on.
Old efans used ground. You could even wire in a toggle switch back then for full on cooling in traffic or whatever you needed.

Yes, sadly as stated above in comments it wont work that way (pwm signal) thanks to Ram.

I was asking about the 3.7L V6 fans that are one speed/on or off fans. Not the newer V8 fans that are variable speed fans. I was thinking I could put a one way resistor in the power lines to the efan so that the fan would work "normally" and the temp sensor would provide the power at say 200 down to 190 degrees.
Yet the factory wiring would be protected from power back feed.
