hub centric diameter

I have a 2014 ram 1500 4x4. I want to purchase a new set of shoes for the truck and found a good deal on craigslist for a set of 5x5.5 15x8 wheels. my question is about the hub centric diameter. the wheels have a 4.25" hub diameter. will these work without purchasing rings?

They won't work at all. You need at least 17" rims to fit around the brake calipers. The hub bore on stock wheels are 77.8mm. Not exactly sure what that converts to in inches

I'm pretty sure that 4.25" he's talking about is the back spacing.


And yes 15's won't clear the brakes.
