Hvac only coming out of defrost

I have a 98 dogs ram 1500, The fan speed for the heater and AC only works on Hi, and the thing that controls what way it comes out whether it is through the front vents the defrost or the floor, does not work can anyone help me figure out what I can do here is what I found

The fan speed means your resistor is burned out. Cheap fix.
Defrost is a vacuum leak. Cheap fix with 3mm rubber tubing, but time consuming running it around the truck, from climate control to check valve, and beyond.

Mine doesn't switch to defrost vent it only comes out of the dash vents in the cluster bezel and dash pad, and I think the bi level put heat out on the floor the fan speed switch still works fine my truck is a 2000 dodge ram Laramie slt thanks y'all I appreciate any help with that one lol.
