First off, the truck is an 09 sport with the auto hvac controls.

A few weeks ago the selector started to get stuck on defrost and sometimes floor. To be honest it really has a mind of its own. I bought a new Dorman blend door actuator installed it and the symptoms continued. Just this weekend the blower motor seems to be getting stuck on setting 1 and eventually will let me change the blower speed after driving for about 10 minutes.

Do all of these symptoms seem to be relating back to the K17 recall or is there a greater problem within the hvac system?

That's interesting because the truck doesn't seem to share any other of the characteristics others have described with their TIPM going bad.

Try this.

HVAC Manual Recalibration below

With the vehicle running set the HVAC blower to low

-Press and hold the recirculation button on the HVAC Control Head for 10 seconds and release.

-Now press and hold the recirculation button on the HVAC Control Head again until the recirculation LED begins to flash, then release.

-The system will perform a brief recalibration and reset faults. The customer will regain heat after the calibration is complete.

Could also be that the front control unit may be going bad.
