does anyone else have a delay of 10-15 seconds before the HVAC blows out of the dash vents? If I get in on a hot day, with the fan already turned up, it always blows out the floor vents for 10-15 seconds before switching to the dash vents... makes me wonder if I have a vacuum leak. Now, if I stop for a few minutes, & then start back up, with will still blow out of the dash vents, but any longer & it defaults back to the floor.

I had a 13 durango and it did it and so does my 17 ram 1500. I'm guessing it's normal. It feels like forever in this Florida heat.

I believe the door actuators on these trucks are electric, not vacuum controlled.

My 2014 1500 did the same thing and so does my 2500. I think it's normal for these trucks. I feel your pain. In South Texas heat, it does feel like forever when you get in on a hot day after sitting several hour in the sun.

I think the actuators after shutdown turn to dash. So on start up I think it starts on the dash and then moves to the needed position. It does fell like a lifetime when its 120 in the truck. Remote start makes that issue invisible.

my 2011 1500 does this as well I just see it as normal just because its done that since the day I bought it. If I had remote start I don't think I would've known it does that.

It is normal for your blend doors to go back into the center position about about 30 seconds or so after you shut the truck off and yes they are electric not vacuum operated. If you sit in the truck after you turn it off and take the key out of the ignition you will hear them reset themselves. It is completely normal. If you install remote start and leave your AC on when you lock the truck it'll be nice and cold when you get in it because it'll automatically turn back to where you had it. Unfortunately if you do not have remote smart you have to wait for everything to readjust to your previous settings when you start the truck.
