I have decided that I want to order a new truck early next year. After thinking about it for about month I have decided on a 2012 2500, 4x4, Hemi with 4.10 gears. I am really looking forward to the new 6 speed transmission. I am having a lot of trouble deciding on color and trim level. I originally wanted white, but after seeing the new blue for 2012 it has me reconsidering. I am still leaning towards white, but blue is a strong possibility. Then I don't know if I want an Outdoorsman or Laramie... The Laramie is a little over $2k more when both trucks are equipped the way I want. The fancier stereo is irrelevant in the Laramie since it will come out anyways and be replaced with what's in my current truck. Also, since I want a sunroof I am forced to go with the Alpine stereo system. Sticker price for the Laramie is $47,410 and the Outdoorsman is $45,290.

I like the color matched grille on the Outdoorsman, but that can obviously be changed on the Laramie. The truck I am leaning towards most right now is a monotone white Outdoorsman, then plasti-dip the bumpers white. These would probably get powder coated later on. Are the extra features on the Laramie worth the extra couple grand? It looks to me like all I would get heated/ventilated leather seats, a heated steering wheel, and chrome mirrors and door handles, which would have to go... I don't really care about the heated steering wheel and I can add heated leather seats for less than $2k... I do like the all black interior a little better, but the wood grain would have to go as well.

Your thoughts?

I like the all white, two-tone's not my style. Love the Laramie though, comes with a butt-load of extras!

I have everything the Laramie has and more. Example: All white no chrome

Laramie it awesome. Longhorn even better. I am with Trup monotone classy all the way. Have you looked at the Cherry Red? I like white but I prefer off (stone) white that is why I have 09 actually.

Side note I noticed brilliant black is not an option right now. Sad.

I would love to see the sick green with flakes on the Ram or other Mopar's again. Japan get back up and running :)

Got my vote too. If you don't care about the heated seats and you don't like the interior of the laramie or the chrome exterior features
(neither do I), save yourself the hassle of chrome removal and go for the outdoorsman. With tow mirrors I hope!

Thanks for all the comments and votes! I am really leaning towards the white Laramie. I stopped by my local dealer and they had a 2012 2500 Hemi ST truck that I took for a quick spin. In the 5 miles I drove it, I absolutely loved the new transmission. The spacing is so much better. They had a white monotone Laramie CTD that I really like. I think I will be ordering the same truck soon, minus the CTD...

I like the Cherry Red, but it's too much like the truck I have. Gotta change it up a bit...
When your spending that much. Just get a 2012 power wagon!!!!
Don't really need a power wagon, but I'm still keeping that option open...

Tow mirrors are an absolute... What I really like about the Laramie is the all black interior. The outdoorsman is identical to the interior I have now. Don't really care if I have leather or not and I don't care for the woodgrain, but that an easy fix. It's kind of hard to start swapping out the dash and door panels to get a monotone interior.
