I found a way to receive your own PIN CODE without the dealer :)

So I used the OBDLink MX OBD2 reader and downloaded an app called Pin Puller.
It says it need elm237 pr something but when you connect using Blietooth it says its using the MX like an ELM!! From this point you than click on the model vehcile you have and purchase some points. For pin code its 50 points and costs $19.99. After that cost start. It asks you to put your 4 way emergency lights on and the n click continue. Moments layer it shows VIN and your pin code!

Hope this helps others with reluctant dealers!!

I downloaded the PIN Puller app tonight to take a look. It asks for permission to access my contacts or it wont run on my Android. Seems strange an app like this needs access to my contacts. I use an iPhone for everything and have an Android tablet to watch movies on when I fly for work. I only have a few contacts on it but still....why? I'm going to try to get the PIN from the Dealer first. I don't like unjustified data collection.

Just downloaded the Chrysler Pin Puller app and I was able to get the pin for my daughters Jeep and program a spare key for her. It was quick and easy.

Kevin thank you for your info and help. This is another BS socialist control issue in our lives. The 2018 and up Rams now have a gate way that requires an expensive upgrade to the techs diagnostic/scan tool or the purchase of one. They run $1500-5000. Need to be careful some companies are saying their $500-$800 tool will access the FCA gate way with a rolling pin. Just went thru this with Autel. To their credit, they allowed a full refund and paid the shipping when we showed them that the 508 and 608 model will not work on the 2018 and up vehicles. I was able to get rolling pins on both of my vehicles from my local dealer because he knows us as OEM parts customer. Other wise they charge a stranger $20. They knew that customers would need to access and change the placard value in the TPMS system when tires and wheels are changed. But they want to be closer to NHTSA and the socialist regulators than their customers. Lots of of bad BS misinformation. It is not a Federal crime to change the tire pressure settings in the the TPMS system. It is illegal to remove, disable or delete the program. In fairness to dealers. Some dealers in some City's are getting buried with pin request.

You’re talking about two different things that serve two completely different purposes. The security gateway module has nothing to do with the RF Hub PIN.
The purpose of the security gateway module is not to prevent you from accessing your vehicle, but to prevent hackers from remotely accessing your vehicle and making changes to it through the radio. It can be easily bypassed by buying any number of cheap harnesses on the market, and any competent shop would know how to do this. ANY scan tool will work on a vehicle with a security gateway. The one that Deereguy offers at kaodtech.com is only $50.
The main purpose of the PIN number for your RF Hub is for programming key fobs. It just happens to control the TPMS system, so any changes to that requires the hub to be reset, which in turn requires the PIN. Because it is needed to program fobs, the PIN needs to be the most protected information about your truck, and rightfully so. When the PIN is given out, all the info on who accessed it and who it was given to is reported to national insurance database, incase that vehicle comes up stolen after the PIN was given out. Dealers are only allowed by FCA access to a certain number of PINs daily. They’re free to charge the vehicle owner whatever they want because they’re offering a service. Let’s say the dealer is only allowed 5 PINs a day, and you have 5 customers come in asking for their PIN because they want to lower their pressure. Then someone comes in that actually needs a key fob programmed because they lost it. They have to turn that person away for the day because they used up all their PIN code access for the day. The PIN puller app is simple, $15, and you don’t even have to mess around with wondering how much of a hassle it’s going to be going to the dealer.

There is nothing BS about the inclusion of the security gateway module after the fallout over the highly publicized exposure of the flawed system that allowed remote control of these vehicles. There is nothing "BS, bad design, or bad solution" about preventing tampering with the TPMS system behind the PIN either when the manufacturer is held accountable to the laws around vehicle safety. They have no expectation, despite your claim otherwise, for someone to run a tire of a lower load range on their heavy duty truck. I know that I WV if you show proof of ownership for what ever vehicle, they have to give it to you and it must be free of charge. I have gotten mine and at least 4 other vehicles over the years from about 3 different dealerships. I only ever had one that try to say no but when I went to the manager he changed his mind.

sorry to bring an old thread back, but the walkthrough on page 225 of the alphaobd thread for programming doesn't appear to be for keyless fogs (talks about inserting keyfob and such). is there a walkthrough for push-button start fobs? i can't seem to find.
