I'm a hand on the bottom of the wheel kind of driver. I've been driving my '13 for two years now and figured I would have gotten used to driving with those double bars on the bottom of the wheel, but i haven't. I want so badly to take a hack saw and cut the bars off of the wheel but I think it would look super ghetto plus the leather wrap would probably be all messed up. Does any one else have the same hatred as me and what have y'all done about it? Can you swap a 3rd gen steering wheel? Is there an aftermarket option without the bars on the bottom?

This is the wheel I'm installing soon on mine.

Grant Steering Wheels

They only have up to 2011 models. I would dicourage putting a different Gen wheel as you are caging factory safety equipment. If you were ever in a wreck or your airbag deployed prematurely you could get denied insurance coverage and/or warranty for safety equipment withdrawn.

I love the wheel! Usually when my hand is on the bottom I'll have my thumb through the middle of the bars and the rest of my hand on the other side.

That still doesn't get rid of the two vertical bars on the bottom.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you truly wanna get rid of the bars you are going to have to make move to a racing style wheel. There's really nothing out there that gets rid of them if you still want all of your controls unless you pay someone a ton of money to custom make you one (if they will at all).
