For 2018 model year, there is supposed to be a major change. 5th generation type change, possibly no more V8s (or do the Ford thing: turbo engines and smaller V8). Maybe it will be a late start model year and start in January, or maybe the 2018 will be another 4th gen model year (just a short one) and the 2019 model year will be the 5th gen. They did it for the Grand Cherokees... the 2014 model year (major refresh) started in January of 2013.

The new trucks were supposed to come out for 2017 model year. That has now been delayed to '18 possibly due to the N08, N49/62 recalls which resulted in the massive NHTSA fine & buyback program. My money is on a hemi replacement. Whether that be an all new or significant upgrade (kinda like the 3.6 upgrade). Anyone remember a few years ago when ram was doing the no charge hemi upgrade? The next year, the 4.7 was dropped. Now they're doing a $1000 rebate to go with the 3.6. I'm guessing the next hemi will have direct injection & mass air flow instead of MAP. Possibly do the Ford thing & go with an aluminum body. Chrysler has talked about integrating apple car play & Google auto for next gen vehicles.

The next Gen RAM will most likely line up with change of production of the trucks from the Warren Truck plant to Sterling Assembly.

Agreed. Once the plant change is made the new updates will be implemented I believe.
