So yesterday I’m coming home from work. At a red light, car to my right and a Nissan pickup to my left. Now the left lane merges into my lane about 1000 feet after the light and it’s apparent to me that this Nissan to my left is gonna try to take the light to get in front of me because I can see him inching up every few seconds. Now my current Ram is a 2018 Big Horn 5.7l 3.21 gears. Performance mods are just a AFE CAI (closed kind that uses the bottom of the factory air box), a Carven Progressive muffler, BT Catch Can, not sure if that’s actually a performance mod, and finally a Pedal Commander set at Sport +2. My last Ram was a 2013 Express. Hemi, of course, but this one had a Ported TB, JBA Headers, CAI, and a Diablosport with a Hemi Fever tune and 3.55’s. So getting back to the guy next to me at the light. I really don’t beat on any of my vehicles, but there was no way in hell this guy was getting around me. So, the light turns green, good reaction time, I stab the gas, maybe half way. She roasts the 33X12.5x20 Grabber ATX’s and I’m gone. Holy s—t!! This truck surprised me. It’s actually faster than the 2013 that had more performance mods, by far. Is it the 8 speed in the 2018 vs the 6 speed in the 2013 that makes that difference? Or is it solely the Pedal Commander? It did always kinda feel like the 2018 was faster, but now I know it is because the 2013 never got up like that.
