for pete sake can someone please tell me why it is that my truck just started geting worse gas mileage? I put the larger wheels on but so far as tire size goes its all about the same.... 1 1/2 mile per hr difference. and when I got the new wheels and tires the gas milage stayed 17 per gallon, well today it went down to 14 per gallon. Its a Damn shame gas costs so much and I am getting this crap.if any one has a answer to what the problem might be then PLEASE help!!!I know the tires will make a little difference but ......:Grenade:

Winter fuel blend can do that. Check your spark plugs, when was the last time they were changed? Check your tire pressure.

the bigger wheels will weigh a lot more, that might have some (not all) to do with it. winter blend is another killer. Different gas stations have different blends of fuel. I wouldnt get too worried about it unless you see it a couple tanks in a row. Just for good measure, try running some fuel system cleaner through next fill up too (fuel system, not just injector cleaner)

Try puttin in some RXP Octane Booster in the tank, that stuff works awesome

do not try this

its winter fuel check the plugs and try resetting the pcm

take it out and run it hard a lil bit if you just put the wheels on the truck has some not very much of adaptive learning to do because of the new weight of the wheels

Winter blend wouldnt explain the loss in gas mileage today....winters been here for awhile guys lol but a different station could maybe explain it. Did you switch to a more aggressive tread pattern or maybe heavier tires?

Go back to your normal gas station and see what it does next tank. The winter blend would have hit your mpgs right off the bat, not at the end of the winter season after running it for 4-5 months already. Was it the same octane? How many tanks agao were the new wheel/tires put on?

Check tire pressure, get an oil change, clean the air filter, plugs if they are due.... you know all the gen maintenance crap. Make sure your tire height and all that is adjusted right on your truck (via tuner or dealer).

not all winter blends are held equal guys. my point was it could be a tougher winter blend at the different station she went to. i still think its just bad gas though. run another tank or two and report back

Is it required for stations in your area (or the area you went for cheaper gas) to post whether it's ethanol blend or not? In Oklahoma there's a law that any station using Ethanol has to have it posted on each pump. Judging by the price difference and mileage difference I would guess you went from running pure gasoline to an blend with at least 10% Ethanol.
