Yesterday my Ram 2500 5.7l was driving totally fine and great took it on a 150 road trip no issues. This morning get in to go run some errands start it up and the engine idles weird. Does the normal high idle but as is coming down it would go back up like 100 rpm. So it would fall 200rpm and go back up to 100rpm. After the Idle settled put it intro reverse to go and waited for it to engage reverse, it usually take between 2-5 seconds dealer says its normal IDK, this time it took longer. When it finally went into reverse gear it would idle backwards in reverse normal but as soon as I give it a little gas it slows down and feels like its slipping and then even jerks a bit like its trying to stop but only if I'm giving it gas. So I apply brakes, stop, and put it into Drive goes into 4th and is stuck there and pull forward back into my driveway and now the check engine light is on.
Put it in park and get out to check the fluid level with the truck on I hear this weird buzzing kind of noise from the truck. Laying down next to its definitely coming from the transmission pan. Check fluid seems normal.
I pull the codes and get P0841 and P0876.
Restart truck, no buzzing noise, put it in drive and it will idle/go 5mph forward in my driveway fine. Put it into reverse, normal slowness, idling backwards as soon as I give it gas it slips then jerks a bit and that buzzing noise comes back put it into drive now its 4th limp mode.
Anybody experience this? Thoughts?
Im thinking a solenoid is bad maybe? That probably why its slow to go into reverse 'normally'
