ignition switch?

Hi all, I have 2012 ram 1500 4.7 liter. I do not have a key fob. Every once and a while I turn key to on and nothing happens, no dash lights or anything. So I turn the rest of the way to start and nothing happens. This only happens every coupla months or so. The last time I turned key on and off 7 times before I got power to the on position. I have read about all the problems about wireless ign.switch but since I don't have a key fob I don't know if this applies to me. Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas of what my problem might be, please enlighten me.

Without a fob you shouldn't even be able to turn the key switch, forget actually getting electricity to flow. Sounds like your ignition switch has been jimmy'd...

1 - search eBay for RAM ignition switches. There is a guy who sells the pre-programmed switch with two fobs. It is a very easy swap-out. You will need to send him your VIN and I think your truck's PIN (have to go to dealer for that).

2 - search YouTube for the replacement process, watch a few of the videos, it's so easy a caveman could do it!
