So I am looking to put new speakers into my 2002 dodge ram 1500 I had just put some infinity reference in there about 7 months ago and they had already blew and today I found out why, the infinity amp. So now to prevent my newest speakers from blowing out even quicker I need to bypass my factory amp by rewiring all 7 speakers but I thought what a pain, so if I just bought an aftermarket amp to go under the passenger seat would this work too?

You can, but rewire the whole truck, new RCA's from HU to amp, new speaker wires form amp to doors, etc.

So it would be just as much trouble as rewiring the speakers anyway?

Know where I can watch a video or instructions on rewiring all 7 speakers? The part I'm worried about is having to rewire the tweeters under my cracked dash

One way is the pull factory speakes out, splice or crimp new wire to factory and pull thru door, so as you pull the old out into the inside of the cab, you pull the new wire through. Why not put tweeters on upper door?

How would I pull the old wire out? It's all taped and held in on the inside of the door real good. I think I will just buy an aftermarket amp and pay for either Car Toys or Frys electronics to handle it.

The infinity amp is 2 ohms. I was going to pull mine but with speakers that are Ok with a 2 ohm load it is actually a good system.

Easier to work with that system rather than against it.

Keeping in mind each channel is set on the systems crossover so you have to replace each speaker with something that's going to work with the system.

A deck with non amplified leads going to the Infinity system makes a big difference on the sound as well.

I just ordered an infinity amp bypass from car toys and it was surprisingly only 20 dollars which leads me to believe they ordered the wrong one because they didn't ask much specifications about my truck. But I heard that if I install the factory radio again it will help the speakers sound better while the amp is still wired in?

So I'm thinking if I can't figure out the harness, I'll have them install it sometime next week or if its the wrong one, while I wait for te other to e shipped in, I will use the factory radio until I can get it working, I'd rather have great sound quality for a few days and not have a nice HU.
