Info on 1st gens

Looking to sell my 2nd gen during the summer and buy a 1st gen. The Cummins reg cabs around south central Texas are around $3000-4000 in okay shape. I should have some extra money to put into one.

What automatic trans were in these trucks with the diesel engine?

it depends on what year diesel you get. early ones came with a beefed up 727. then some came with a a518. i don't know if the a518 diesel came with lockup torque converters like the gas ones did. i think if you wanted that you would have to upgrade to the bit newer 47RH transmission which is available on the 94-95 cummins powered trucks.
