Needed to move a 40 foot ladder to do some work at home. Its too long for the bed by a longshot, will be buying some lumber in the next few weeks, probably some 12 or 16 foot planks.

Needed a rack so the ladder would not hand off too much, and didn't want to risk damaging the roof.

Bought a set of these from Amazon.

Didn't want to drill holes in the bed, do not want to keep the rack on the truck all the time. I got two sets of these.

Rack is plenty strong enough for the ladder. Made from steel, painted. I don't think it would stand up to winter weather very well, but is just fine for my purposes. Was talking to my brother, he has a Thule rack on his Silverado. Came with clamps, adjustable height, all aluminum. It is nicer, but three times the price.

This setup will meet my needs. Took about an hour to take off my Tonneau cover, take the rack out of the box, put it together and put it on the truck.

After I moved the ladder, it took about 20 minutes to take the rack off, and put the tonneau cover back.

I like it ! I wonder how that would work with my side rails ? I have a low profile Back Rack as well and this looks like it will clear that. I have the 6 ft bed so 20 ft ladder and 10 ft 2x10 don't fit my bed either lol

FYi - After I took it off, no marks on the truck at all, you cannot tell it was there.

Forgot to mention I put some sticky back foam under the rack where it mounts to the truck, to give a bit of padding. Nothing special, something I had laying around, could easily get it at a hardware store, or on Amazon no doubt.

That makes it easy especially if you prefer a cover most the time. There is a few systems you can have both but 4 times the cost of what you paid.

That same rack is sold just about everywhere, so look around if you want one. I bought mine at Tractor Supply, it was on sale for $49 at the time, usually $99. I used the clamps as well, we use it to haul our kayaks when we tow our TT to the beach. It’s a pretty sturdy rack and is adjustable for bed width as well.
