Needed to move a 40 foot ladder to do some work at home. Its too long for the bed by a longshot, will be buying some lumber in the next few weeks, probably some 12 or 16 foot planks.
Needed a rack so the ladder would not hand off too much, and didn't want to risk damaging the roof.
Bought a set of these from Amazon.

Didn't want to drill holes in the bed, do not want to keep the rack on the truck all the time. I got two sets of these.

Rack is plenty strong enough for the ladder. Made from steel, painted. I don't think it would stand up to winter weather very well, but is just fine for my purposes. Was talking to my brother, he has a Thule rack on his Silverado. Came with clamps, adjustable height, all aluminum. It is nicer, but three times the price.
This setup will meet my needs. Took about an hour to take off my Tonneau cover, take the rack out of the box, put it together and put it on the truck.
After I moved the ladder, it took about 20 minutes to take the rack off, and put the tonneau cover back.
