Nobody uses the dyno anymore when it comes to these trucks. Dynos are very inconsistent, and these trucks are hard to lock into gear as well which makes it hard on the dyno operator to get a clean pull.

We test all of the parts at the dragstrip instead. Vararam has shown .2-.4 in the 1/4 mile, throttle body is good for .1 in the 1/4 mile. Muffler swap will how minimal gains, but longtube headers are worth .3 in the 1/4 mile. A Diablo tuner with Hemifever custom tuning is good for about .5-.6 in the 1/4 mile.

These are all general numbers because the order in which you install each of these will change how much you gain from them. In general, those are about the numbers we see though.

Well that answers the majority of my question! Thank you sir! Interesting.

A throttle body will not have any impact on the transmission or shift points. Try disconnecting the battery, but I dont see how what you are describing would be any result of a throttle body install.

Thanks Matt!

Was wondering about the weird shifting too!
Truck was sitting in the garage for 10 days, maybe had been a bit sleepy yesterday. lol

Besides the shifting - which hopefully gets back to normal by just driving it - I very much like how your TB changed the trucks behavior!
Just slightly tapping the gas pedal is now enough to start off from a stop.
Stepping on the gas like I used to do before that mod will give me a nice tire squeal now. :waytogo:
Thanks again!

I was going to wait to install until my Vararam Air Grabber gets here in a few weeks, but I couldn't stare at this thing sitting on the workbench any longer. Some say I have a "disease". :Violin: So early this morning I woke and got straight to work.

Install was a BREEZE! Took all of 20 minutes, and that was with a emergency coffee dump break. Disconnected the battery, removed the OEM intake tube and engine cover, unplugged the obvious plugs, removed the OEM throttle body, and slapped on Moe's, then put it all back together.

There is barely a difference in a side by side visual comparison of the two units. It's simply a OEM unit. You can see where the TB was bored to 87mm on the inside, but other than that I can't see the dealer, or anyone for that matter noticing any difference from stock unless they were looking for it.

So now for the test drive.... UN - BE - LEIVABLE!!!:head3: The throttle response is like it SHOULD be from the factory. Improved across ALL RPMs. And from a 20mph punch this thing creates a NOTICEABLE difference in the butt dyno even on 35" Trail Grapplers!! Who woulda thought this little mod would make such a incredible difference.

I've only got about 20 miles on it, but can honestly say this is a MUST HAVE MODIFICATION for ANY Ram owner. 100% happy with the results and super thankful for Matt @ Moe's Performance and his STELLAR customer service.

Can't wait to get the Vararam on and hopefully a tuner sooner than later to really unleash this beast's potential.

Oh, and I forgot to add, of course I opted to protect my investment. BT Catch Can also installed.:33:

Having Moe's ported TB for about a week now, I noticed not only a significant improvement in throttle response, but also a .2 gain in gas-mileage.
I love it!!!

You need to look a little closer next time. I could see a lot of machining on mine. It's very good machine work so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Exceeded expectations! Highly recommend!

Toy-o-the-day! Just installed an 87mm Moe's Performance throttle body. My current potpourri of pleasurable Power producing Hemi parts consists of K&N 57 series FIPK cold air intake, Flowmaster Outlaw series exhaust, and a DiabloSport i2 DCX tuner with Hemifever Custom Tune by Sean Powell at Hemifevertuning. Awesome throttle response with extremely strong pull from bottom to WOT. Smokes the tires off the line!! Exceeded my expectations!!!
