i have a 97 1500, im installing a 5" bds lift. im working on the front, i had to replace the front axle so i figured id do the lift at the same time. the problem im having is the sway bar link on drivers side is hitting the axle. the drop bracks the lift comes with are installed in the original spots and adjusted as far forward as they can go. the passenger side is fine. the axle looks like its centered fine.

has anybody had this problem?
can i just move the sway bar more to the front of the truck on the drivers side to pull the link away from the axle? will it have any affect on handling?

thanks

Pictures would probably be worth a thousand words here. Not too many running BDS lifts on this forum in 2nd gen that I'm aware of.
