Insurance question

Hey everyone,

I've been shopping around for quotes on my new truck and haven't gotten anywhere. Currently, I'm with State Farm and pay about $165 a month, plus my renters insurance. I'm 21, have a clean record and a job, and the truck is a 2014 Sport Crew Cab.

Geico came back with the best rate at just about $100 per month for the auto insurance only. Does anyone know if this is just an introductory rate ie. in 6months, are they gonna take me for a ride?

Also, can anyone chime in with their rates? I'm interested to see if I'm at least getting a decent deal.

Well my truck is insured under my moms name, because my record has two accidents, from when I was still in school, and a couple speeding tickets. It's still a lot higher then that, I think I'm somewhere around $180 with a thousand dollar deductible just to get it that low. My truck is a 2014 Tradesman quad cab.

I'm 25 with a clean record and pay $100/month for my 03 Durango. Since I'm still shopping for either a Charger or Ram I asked my insurance to run a new car for me and it would go up a whopping $7/month for either. I also have my house linked so that brings my bill down a bit. It also depends on where you live too.

That being said I'd check with Geico because that sounds pretty good. I've never heard of an insurance having a "introductory" rate and then hiking it up but I've only been with two different companies.

I'm 25 and married me and my wife have been paying 135 a month for the past 2 years with geico. Her car is a 11 altima and my truck is a 14 1500. We get multi car discount and our house insurance is through geico. I say $100 is a really good deal and I haven't herd of a inductory rate either. My sister in law use to be a geico agent and always made sure we got a good deal. everyones financial situation is different but if your like me and don't have a huge savings account you might consider lowering your deductible. My wife backed into someone in a parking lot and only hurt her car and then it got hailed on not long after getting the bumper fixed and a $1000 hit is hard to swallow. But lastly you have to fight insurance company's against each other, every 2-3 years you might shop around for the best rate from another company.

I have travelers. I pay 300 per month. I have a 14 1500. The wife has a 14 journey. My 18 year old has a 13 fiesta. We also have the 13 Gulf Stream and all is full coverage. You are getting good rates.
The 18 year old is killing me.

I got all of you beaten. I got 3 vehicles (my truck and 2 cars), TOTAL 6 MONTH PREMIUM FOR ALL 3 VEHICLES: $160. No thats not a misprint, its not per car or per Month. Thats 3 cars, for 6 Months. BOOOOya. Thats ND for u. Cheapest insurance i found anywhere! Of course, since i own the cars outright, i just have state min. liability, and no comp/collision.

LOL, they offered to let me pay About $ 25 per Month, but i just pay The Whole Policy Premium in full.

244.00 a month for 3 vehicles. 2012 accord, 2014 ram sport cc, and 2005 kia optima. Full coverage 500.00 deductible progressive insurance. I have homeowners ins. with their sister company so I have discounts.

Just remember that the younger/newer car or truck, it's gonna be higher. If your 21 and paying $165 a month for full coverage, that isn't bad.

Personally, progressive is probably going to be your best rate.

The year makes almost no difference. It's all about replacement part cost. My 2014 qc 4wd ram is $13 more every 6 months over my 2006 f-150 crew cab 2wd with 300k on the clock.

I pay $130 a month for full coverage through Grange Insurance in SEKY. I'm 26 and have my 12 Ram and wife's 11 GMC Terrain

I've got Geico. 24 living in houston paying 120 a month. I think mine is higher because the location plus a speeding ticket 4 years ago. didn't go up when I had my camry insured with them before after 6 months.

Me, I pay around $150-175/mo, drive in S.F. Bay Area, and have higher amounts set so in the event anything stupid happens, my family is covered, as are our assets like the house, etc., FULL COVERAGE, period. As far as who, honestly, been with AAA since I got my license, clean record, 25 years experience, and NOBODY I've shopped can beat their rates for what I get.

Free tip, spend that little extra, get comp/collision as well as bumping up your other coverages. You never know when the other idiot might hit you and then completely lie their a$$ off either to the Police, the DMV, their insurance, or an attorney/judge. Cover Your Butt.

i pay 220/mo for a '12 vw passat, '13 ram, and '13 camaro. plus i have a $1million umbrella to cover me in the event of something large happens. also included in this price is a $18k for my wifes wedding ring.

i remember the days of being 21 and having a new car/truck. to me seeing 160/mo at 21 isnt bad

22 here. 07 1500 and 96 Corolla, about 650 for six months for both, or around 110 a month. Allstate. No tickets no accidents.

one tip as mentioned by ORT I believe, don't cheap out on your coverage as the old saying comes to mind "pay now or pay much more later" I have enough insurance for us and the neighbour on either side of us.
