Intake Manifold Doesn't Match Heads

The engine is supposed to be a 2004 Ram 2500. The heads are casting 53021616BA.

The intake manifold is a Holley 300-931BK
While it looks like it will bolt on, the ports don't look like a good match. I am wondering if there is some kind of update that changes the port size and shape somewhat.

Hope someone can tell me why this doesn't look or work well.

That's because someone didn't do the reading.....



This is from Holley's website by the way. Notice what isn't listed there? 03-08 heads are different (smaller & different shaped ports for starters) than the performance and later heads.

Thanks, that is kind of what I suspected must be the problem...

So to get the right manifold, I have to look for something that fits 2003 and older?

2003-2008 5.7. There is no 3G hemi prior to 2003.
OR
You can swap 6.1 or eagle 5.7 heads on to your block and then you can actually use this manifold. I assume this engine is not being used in the aforementioned truck because this manifold is terrible match not only to the stock heads and cam but for a ¾ ton truck.
