6.4 and 5.7 intakes use the same port size. There's maybe at most about 8 to 10 hp to be gained by porting either intake. I have a fully ported 5.7 car intake sitting downstairs, that after spending about 10 hours porting didn't pan out on my stock 300,it would work good on a cammed 5.7 or a 6 speed Challenger where the shift points are closer to 6500,but on a stock 300 with the factory 5600 rpm shift points it wasn't good, but the car 5.7's are a single runner intake.I pulled it back off and put a stock intake back on the car.
I ported the stock intake on my truck, and it worked good, but it was cammed/long tubed ,and the 8 speed was tuned to shift at 6600 rpm,and it had a 75 shot of nitrous, and in that case,it was definitely worth the time to port it
When i ported the intake on the wifes 1320 Challenger it worked great, but it's a dual runner manifold, and the 1320's shift at 6400/6500 rpm and have a factory high stall torque convertor.
If you're running a stock cam,the time spent on porting one is hard to justify, but if you're cammed with long tubes /high stall convertor with an 8 speed, with your shift points bumped up to 6500,then it's worth it.
As Dilligaf states, you start adding power to your 6 speed transmission, you'll get good at swapping transmissions,as they don't take kindly to power, learn how to drive it,to get life out of it,which is no wide open downshifts on the highway, get in the habit of manually downshifting it,before you floor it to pass, and no wide open high speed runs. The transmission is good from a dig,but it won't take a rolling wide open downshift, unless you pre-downshift it,and wide open high speed runs will take out the overdrive clutches, and no matter what anybody tells you,the tranny can't be built to handle a higher powered 5.7,so if it blows up,don't worry about rebuilding it,just get another one from a wrecker and slap it in,or better yet,do the 8 speed swap
If you're putting a 6.4 intake on a 5.7 truck,i'd just clean the hell out of it,and slap it on with new gaskets, and use your 5.7 injectors with MMX's spacers.
You can easily clean your stock injectors at home.
There's a video in the first post that's worth watching.

Can you briefly explain the differences in gear ratio that rams come with ? My 2009 laramie has the 3.92 gears.

3.21 / 3.55 and 3.92 are basically your options.The early 09 to 13 R/T's came with 4.10's,but there's no matching front 4.10 diff to go with their rear 4.10's.. The R/T's with the 4.10's were only 2 wheel drive trucks.Mexico had 4X4 R/T's,but they're basically a rebadged Sport,and only had 3.92's.
If you plan on building a semi decent 5.7,do the 8 speed swap as one of your first mods. The 8 speed will give you more usable power to the wheels then a cam will
